Used by high-end natural perfumers all over the world, Cognac essential oil has a very complex aroma with aromatic notes of tartness and muscatel (grape) fruitiness and a complex, earthy richness. It has a fine wine or liqueur fragrance that is sometimes used to draw out the uniqueness of other essential oils when dropped into blends. It helps lift and modify certain notes in perfume formulas by providing a base or foundation note to lighter, sweeter essences.
Native to France (a town named Cognac) and the Mediterranean, the source of this essence is Vitis vinifera (common grape vine), which can sprout over 5,000 varieties of grapes. Produced from the wine precipitate known as “lees,” Cognac essential oil is extracted through steam distillation. As a specialty essential oil, Cognac will synergistically enhance your most beloved fragrances, providing exceptional and distinct nuances unique to this essential oil.

COGNAC SUGAR SCRUB: To exfoliate the skin and smooth the appearance, mix together: 3 drops of Cognac, 2 drops of Cocoa, 3 drops of Frankincense and 2 drops of Orange. Add ½ cup of granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of Jojoba and 1/4 cup of Sweet Almond oils. Stir to mix well. Use as a last step in the shower, on wet skin, using a spoon to scoop out. Gently massage 1 tablespoon at a time over the entire body. Rinse and blot skin dry to seal in moisture; revel in the aroma left on your skin and start your day with a boost. Avoid getting scrub wet to prevent contamination. (.4% dilution)
BODY LOTION: Add 5 drops of Cognac, 3 drops of Vanilla Oleoresin, 1 drop of Ylang Ylang and 2 drops of Cocoa to one ounce of unscented body lotion. Shake well before indulging in a luxurious experience.
