Diy: Essential Oil Cleansing Balm

At Edens Garden, we pride ourselves in staying on the cutting edge of the beauty and essential oil world. Recently, a new kind of face wash has been hitting boutique shelves and online shops across the county: cleansing balm.

A solid face wash, cleansing balm is gentle yet effective in purifying the skin. With ingredients like vitamin E and Sandalwood essential oil, cleansing balm moisturizes as it removes makeup and impurities.

Skipping preservatives and harsh chemicals, our all-natural cleansing balm DIY is a great way to change up your beauty routine.  As always, Edens Garden recommends doing a patch test of any product before applying directly to the skin.

What You Need:

1 oz Grapeseed carrier oil

2 oz of Hemp Seed carrier oil

1 1/2 tablespoon of grated or chopped cocoa butter

1 ½ tablespoon of soy wax

3 drops of vitamin E oil

15 drops Sandalwood essential oil

15 drops Frankincense essential oil

15 drops Helichrysum essential oil

9 drops Rosemary essential oil

Double boiler

Glass jar

How To:

  1. Pour beeswax and cocoa butter into the double boiler and melt over medium heat.
  2. Once the mixture has mostly cooled, whisk in Hemp Seed and Grapeseed carrier oil.
  3. After the mixture completely cools, whisk in essential oils and vitamin E.
  4. Pour mixture into a glass jar and allow it to cool for an hour. Place in the refrigerator overnight.

***To use: Massage a dime-sized amount into your skin to remove makeup and dirt, avoiding the area around the eyes. Remove the balm with a washcloth and warm water. Keep in the refrigerator to prolong shelf-life.
