Elemi essential oil has a lemony, piney, and gentle musky aroma.
Before modern medicine, civilization relied heavily on the powers of nature to heal, restore and uplift. Elemi is a rare and precious essential oil that has been revered for centuries.
Native to Asia, Elemis are an evergreen trees that produce fruits the size of plums with nuts inside. It is in the same family as Myrrh and Frankincense. The resin of the tree is put through a steam distillation process to capture the pale-yellow essential oil. The word elemi has been used at various times in history to denote various resins.

INHALATION: Add the following to a 5 ml amber glass bottle: 15 drops of Elemi, 40 drops of Eucalyptus (Radiata), 35 drops of Tea Tree and 10 drops of Lemon, then Shake to mix well. Put a few drops on a clean cloth and inhale, or add to a diffuser and run for 30-60 minutes.
BATH SALTS: Combine: 3 drops of Elemi, 3 drops of Lavender, 1 drop Cedarwood (Atlas) with 1 tablespoon of Jojoba oil and 1/2 cup Epsom salts. Stir together and add to a full bath for a relaxing soak.
OILY SKIN: Add to a 2 ounce bottle: 3 drops of Elemi, 2 drops of Tea Tree, 2 drops of Ylang Ylang, 3 drops of Cypress and 2 ounces of witch hazel. Shake well to combine before putting a couple of drops onto a water-damp cotton swab and applying directly to problem areas. (1.7% dilution)
