An essential oil that has a certain je ne sais quoi, Geranium is magical. Not in the literal sense (because that's crazy) but Geranium oil has a natural chemistry and therapeutic properties that are extraordinary.
Geranium essential oil has a floral and sweet aroma. Additionally, Geranium has long been used as an aromatherapy remedy for a range of health issues. For instance, Geranium essential oil is often used in skin care and hair care to promote healthy skin and shiny hair.
Geraniums are small fragrant plants that grow about 3 feet in height. There are hundreds of different species of Geranium plants, but don’t confuse it with the usual potted plants that grow in brilliant reds, purples and blues.
EG's Geranium essential oil is derived from a plant in the family of Geraniums (to which this common name is applied liberally), but is in the genus Pelargonium, which has dozens of other cross bred cousins. To extract the essential oil, the leaves are put through a steam distillation process.
