A simple diffusion of this pristine essential oil refreshes rooms and delivers an air of cleansing comfort. In body care applications it provides a refreshing and reassuring aroma.
The fresh and dried leaves of Lemon Basil are intrinsic to Malaysia and Laotian cuisine where it is favored for use in rice, curry and stir-fried dishes; it is the most commonly used type of basil in Laos. Lemon Basil is treasured within Indonesian cuisine, where it is called Kemangi.
Lemon Basil is a hybrid of Sweet Basil and American Basil Ocimum americanum. This lovely herb is grown in northeastern Africa and southeastern Asia. The leaves are similar to basil leaves, but narrower with slightly serrated edges. Lemon Basil essential oil is produced through distillation.

SWELLING: Make a salve by melting 2 oz of beeswax in a double boiler. Once melted, add in 1 oz of Wheat Germ, 30 drops Lemon Basil, 15 drops Sandalwood Hawaiian and 9 drops Black Pepper. Scoop out and apply to problem areas.
ACHES: Create a massage oil by combining 1/2 cup Guava Seed, 35 drops Lemon Basil, 20 drops Bergamot Mint and 17 drops Hemp essential oil.
COOLING: In a glass spray bottle, combine 1 oz distilled water, 8 drops Lemon Basil, 5 drops Geranium, 5 drops Lavender Spike and Polysorbate 20 (manufacturer’s recommended amount). Shelf life: 1 week
