Perfectly Imperfect: DIY EO Liquid Lipstick
In 1770, lipstick was banned in England as it was said to have the power to seduce men into marriage. Queen Elizabeth I even believed lipstick had the ability to ward off death. Though lipstick might not have magic powers, it does have the ability to beautify any puckered pout.
Since the Elizabethan era of cosmetics and makeup, lipstick formulation has evolved tremendously. What was once a mixture of mostly animal fats, herbs, waxes, and dyes is now a concoction of harmful chemicals and synthetics.
However, Edens Garden’s aromatherapists recently went back to the basics of lipstick making to bring you a completely natural alternative to your favorite lip colors. Here’s how to up your #LipGame-
What You Need
1 oz Avocado carrier oil
1 oz Sweet Almond carrier oil
6 drops Lavender
6 drops Peppermint
2 tsp Shea butter
1 tsp Beeswax
½ tsp Cosmetic clay
2 tsp Lip safe mica powder
Lipgloss container
How To
Add Avocado, Sweet Almond, shea butter and beeswax to a double boiler. Sprinkle cosmetic clay and mica on top. Whisk thoroughly to combine. Remove from heat and add essential oils. Transfer the mixture to the containers and allow to cool before use. Voila! Your lips are ready to impress.

When DIY receipes have Shea butter , do I buy unrefined African Shea butter, 100% raw Shea butter? Thank you

Hi Sheri! Unrefined or raw shea butter is fine to use but it may have some particles and a stronger aroma, whereas a refined shea butter would not. Refined is easier to work with in cosmetics.
