At times, our overall well-being and health can get interrupted when we get distracted by our immediate afflictions. Sage is an essential oil that revitalizes the body as a whole while also helping to restore our individual bodily systems.
With an herbaceous and sweet aroma, Sage has been acknowledged throughout history for its medicinal properties. Its name means “to save” in Latin because of its efficacy in helping a range of health issues.
Not to be confused with clary sage essential oil, sage essential oil has similar health benefits to clary sage. Sage oil is antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, aids in digestive health and for those who have experienced hair loss it can support hair growth. Sage essential oil can be used for aromatherapy, using one of our essential oil diffusers, or can be added to shampoos or your regular body or face lotion for topical application.
Native to the Mediterranean, Sage is a small evergreen tree that is now cultivated worldwide. To extract the sage essential oil, the leaves are put through a steam distillation process.
